Hey there!

With just over a month to go before the launch of my new double-sided book, Create the Future + The Innovation Handbook, I wanted to give you a sneak peek at the content with some exclusive excerpts in the weeks to come. To kick things off, here's a snippet from Create the Future's foreword, written by New York Times bestselling author (and previous Future Festival speaker) Malcolm Gladwell!

"You have in your hands a book about how to Create the Future. Before you start, I'd like to offer a few thoughts about how to think about that question. Let me begin with the question of time.

A lot of thinking about the future necessarily revolves around the chronology of future events. We can be pretty certain, for example, that one day science will cure dementia, or the internal combustion engine will be no more, or--in our fanciful moments--that humans will be able to travel instantaneously through space, like they did in old episodes of Star Trek. The unknown is when these things will happen. 10 years? 30 years? Or has it already been figured out, and we just don't know about it?

I think that question is best answered in parts..."

To be among the first to read Malcolm's full foreword and the rest of Create the Future, pre-order your copy at createthefuturebook.com. We're also celebrating the book's launch with a special team ticket package for Future Festival New York, so head over to our website today to get 5 tickets for just $999!

Enjoy!

Hey there!

Today's shoppers are becoming more aware of their purchases' environmental impact, and many now feel a sense of guilt when buying brand new products. In an effort to both appeal to eco-minded customers and to boost their own sustainability efforts, a variety of retailers have launched new lines of business featuring second-hand versions of their goods.

Sustainable fashion leader Patagonia recently opened Worn Wear, a Colorado store dedicated solely to resale of their products, while Madewell and thredUP joined forces on a curated collection of vintage denim. Outside of the fashion space, Tesla is selling used models of select vehicles directly on their website, allowing them to perform their own safety inspections and facilitate the purchase of electric cars at a lower price point.

We explore these initiatives and more in Branded Second-Hand, one of this week's featured insights. Check out the others below!

Enjoy!
