London: Pirelli tires will be made to strengthen them for use in the German Grand Prix this weekend after a series of harmful damage to race at Silverstone last week that calls for immediate action from the Italian manufacturer.
Concerns about the safety of the limelight after the British Grand Prix on Sunday, which saw Lewis Hamilton (Mercedes), Jean-Eric Vergne (Toro Rosso) and Sergio Perez (McLaren) suffered tire damage.
Use synthetic fiber
In response, Pirelli said they will make the internal straps on the rear tires with Kevlar high strength synthetic fiber than regular steel material to reduce the risk of temperature and is easily punctured tire.
Teams in Formula One, Pirelli and the world motorsport governing body, the Federation International Automobile (FIA) to discuss the matter at the Nurburgring yesterday.
Only the rear tires will be changed for the race on Sunday while the full change will be introduced at the Hungarian Grand Prix, July 28 with the use of tire design 2012.
In fact, yesterday, Pirelli explains the cause of the problem last Sunday due to several factors including the rear tire fitted the wrong way round and incorrect tire pressure.
"The range of tires in 2013 is no suspicion for the safety of the driver if it is used properly and it meets all safety standards required by the FIA," the statement said.
Pirelli motorsport director Paul Hembery then said: "What happened at Silverstone really unexpected and it happened the first time for over a century in the Pirelli's motorsport."
